Description
Working with the Refugee and Human Rights Clinic has been by far the most valuable and memorable part of my law school experience. It has allowed me to not only gain the necessary counseling and advocacy skills that are indispensable for this profession, but it has also challenged me both professionally and personally. I have felt on many occasions overwhelmed by the level of support I've received through this clinical program, and I would be honored to share my experience with my peers and other community members at the summit. I think I could offer insight into what the clinical program offers for students generally, but also share some of the specific, unique experiences I've had- such as volunteering at the Artesia family detention center in New Mexico and representing clients seeking asylum in Maine.
